
A Nottingham taxi driver’s tyres were reportedly slashed with a bladed weapon near the Forest Recreation Ground, Nottingham, following a disagreement.
Nottinghamshire Police officers were called to Waterloo Crescent at around 8.20am on Thursday after the incident was reported. Armed officers were deployed to the scene due to the reported use of a weapon.
A suspect, a 22-year-old man, was arrested shortly after when a vehicle was stopped in Mansfield Road, Nottingham city centre. He is currently in custody and is being questioned on suspicion of affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and possession of a Class B drug.
Chief Inspector Jon Scurr of Nottinghamshire Police commented on the incident, stating: “Incidents such as this are totally unacceptable and will always be met with a robust response. I am pleased we have been able to make a swift arrest, and our investigation will now continue.”
Police are actively investigating the incident at Forest Recreation Ground and are urging anyone who witnessed the altercation on Waterloo Crescent or has further information to come forward.
