Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a man sadly died following a serious road traffic collision in Burnley.
The incident occurred at around 11.20pm on Monday, 5 May, on Brunshaw Road, close to the junction with Brownside Road, and involved a Vauxhall Corsa and a Toyota Prius.
The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa, a man in his 70s, sustained chest injuries and was taken to hospital. Tragically, he passed away on Saturday, 18 May.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary said:
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this incredibly distressing time. They are being supported by specially trained officers.”
An investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is leading enquiries and is particularly keen to hear from motorists or residents who may have seen either vehicle in the moments leading up to the crash.
